We are actively seeking a Senior Production Designer to join our Creative team, focusing on elevating our packaging and production outputs. The ideal candidate will possess a profound passion for typography, design, layout, and meticulous file setup—valuing every small detail and strict adherence to style guides. Additionally, they will demonstrate exceptional expertise in color theory, precision in targeting design specifications, and a thorough approach in conducting press checks—ensuring the highest quality in all print materials. This role reports into our Sr. Design Director. 


This role is hybrid and is open to candidates in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. 


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 2D/3D print and packaging collateral.

  • Maintain obsessive attention to detail to ensure projects meet deadlines and design specifications within budget constraints.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring consistency and high-quality outcomes.

  • Handle imagery with expert cropping and retouching skills.

  • Uphold and advance design standards across all collateral.

  • Define and maintain packaging standards, including logo sizing, spacing, typography, and color.

  • Liaise with vendors to streamline production processes and ensure top-quality printing.

  • Manage the routing and updating of artwork.

  • Resolve quality issues in printing through meticulous press checks and color accuracy assessments.

  • Work closely with the Product Development Production team.

  • Support the visual merchandising team by ensuring design consistency across all physical touchpoints.

  • Convert conceptual directions into tangible, printable results in both 2D and 3D formats.

  • Execute detailed press checks to guarantee color accuracy and overall print quality.

Job requirements

  • 7+ years of production experience in typesetting, product packaging, and executing press checks, preferably within the beauty or personal products industry

  • Advanced knowledge of color theory, including expertise in PMS and CMYK systems.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign.

  • Comprehensive understanding of digital file formats and their optimal applications.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and a problem-solving approach.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely and engage constructively in feedback processes.
