Job description

The Sales Planner will support the Director, Sales Planning & Strategy through ownership of forecasting revenue and inventory plans for our wholesale retail partners. This role serves as a link between sales and key cross functional teams (operations, marketing and finance) to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in commercial operations, while driving growth of the business through implementing strategic program development. This role requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively and collaboratively with key cross functional teams.

This role is hybrid and open to candidates based in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Data Reporting, Analytics & Strategy:

  • Support Director, Sales Planning & Strategy in business analysis including store inventory, field inquiries, retailer bottoms-up, sampling, consolidate all sales results (Sell in)

  • Track and analyze retailer replenishment order frequency; manage replenishment requests, monthly basic orders, booster/hot orders, new launch orders; track and manage order shortages (requesting orders to catch SKU fall off)

  • General order fulfillment; oversee stock availability, cancellations/extensions

  • Manage retailer communications around warehouse closures, shipment cut-offs, product callouts; relay routing guides and shipping instructions; investigate mis shipments, routing issues

  • Communicate launch dates, ship dates, discontinuations, and price changes to retailers

  • Partner with Demand Planning to confirm inventory availability for new launches and promotional activities

  • Assist with various projects as assigned

Planning and Forecasting

  • Drive all retail sales planning and operational processes

  • Partner with Planning and Account Managers to review stock allocations to maximize retail sales and wholesale inventory for launches, core replenishment, and in store animations

  • Validate key opportunities through data and consistently evaluate current sales strategies and adjust based on tests and learns, key data trends, and competitive analysis

  • Assist with retail & shipment budgeting and forecasting exercises

  • Assist with New Product Launch sizing exercises across all accounts

  • Assist Account Managers in retailer bottoms-up forecasting

  • With support of Account Managers manage monthly OTB and provide mid-month roll-up

  • Consolidate wholesale orders with Account Managers to hit desired month and monitor to mitigate liabilities

  • Monitor monthly expenses for DIF/Testers and RTVs

Field Sales Enablement

  • Support the field team with inventory boost

  • Provide Inventory updates for the field team on a bi-weekly basis (including OOS and BIS dates)

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience within sales and sales operations; Experience with accounts such as Sephora and Ulta preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills

  • Thrive on solving problems and looking at implementing creative solutions

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Adaptable, resourceful and forward thinking

  • Ability to work in remote first and fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and Power BI
