ILIA Is looking for a General Manager of Europe to join our Sales team as we continue to expand and share our vision and products with customers around the world. The General Manager, EU is a highly visible leadership role responsible for the performance of the company in the European Region. This role will spearhead the development of the EU sales team, evaluating, and developing new markets and creating a strategy to support brand expansion efforts to achieve financial targets, while protecting our brand equity.

This position will report to the SVP, Sales overseeing Global Markets with a dotted line into the CEO.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Business Development and Ownership
    • Develop the EU strategic plan in line with company directives: build and develop programs that align with corporate objectives to drive results along all consumer touchpoints. (Brand / Product knowledge, selling skills, professional techniques, event themes and service standards)

    • Lead commercial negotiations with new retail partnerships (entering new doors, space, location, etc).

    • Set and agree upon retail and wholesale goals

    • Successfully craft and implement company policies, aligned with ILIA’s principles while keeping local relevance in mind

    • Manage regional P&L and KPI’s to achieve profitability goals

  • Team Development
    • Attract, develop and mentor talent to deliver on ILIA’s sales and growth strategy within the EU market

    • Build and promote company values through the onboarding and development of new team members

    • Interpret and articulate the founder’s philosophy about clean beauty and the ability to provide meaningful direction

  • Internal and External Partnerships

    • Develop positive and collaborative relationships with retailer partners, brand leaders, and cross-functional teams including Finance, Product Development, Operations, Marketing and Social

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to build and present strategic presentations to retail partners

    • Proactively communicate across different business units to maintain alignment on priorities

Job requirements


  • 10+ years of Beauty experience necessary - experience with Sephora a must

  • Experience in working specifically with UK and EU

  • Experience with managing complex relationships across an organization.

  • Proven leadership in a global environment.

  • P&L management experience

  • International travel required

  • Demonstrated success of building winning partnerships with retailers.

  • Exceptional communication skills (presentation/written).

  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities and excels in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to adjust communication style to provide information and direction.

  • Be an independent problem solver and excel in an environment without extensive resources and with high ambiguity.

  • Comfortable in front of an audience, video, and social channels.

  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects. Equally strategic and creative.

  • Superior attention to detail, highly organized.

  • Fluent in English
