Job description
We are looking to welcome a highly motivated and collaborative Director, HR Business Partner to join our dynamic People team. This role will focus on building out the HR Business Partner function through the delivery of driving excellence across several core areas: Employee Relations, Performance Management, Learning & Development, and Talent Planning. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and aligning HR strategies with business goals.
This role is hybrid and open to candidates based in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA. This role will report into the SVP of People.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering:
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing strategic HR support and guidance.
Partner with leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives and drive organizational effectiveness while demonstrating our core values.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement HR solutions that address business challenges.
Change agent: Monitor and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and inform decision-making; supporting organizational change management through various stages of evolution and expansion.
Partner with the People team, Managers and Leadership to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of HR practices.
Talent Planning:
Develop and execute talent planning strategies to identify, develop, and retain top talent.
Partner with leaders to create succession plans and ensure a robust talent pipeline in partnership with the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Development.
Analyze workforce data to inform talent decisions and predict future workforce needs.
Learning & Development:
Lead the development and implementation of learning & development programs that enhance employee skills and career growth.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and create tailored learning solutions.
Measure the effectiveness of training programs and adjust strategies as needed to ensure impactful learning experiences.
Employee Relations:
Develop and implement employee relations strategies that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Provide expert guidance to managers and employees on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
Performance Management:
Partner with the Sr. Manager, People Operations to support the design and execution of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
Partner with leadership to identify performance gaps and develop strategies to address them.
Foster a culture of continuous feedback and development.
Job requirements
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years within a scaling global organization; experience within CPG, beauty/lifestyle, or hyper-growth companies are a plus
Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management and talent planning programs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Team player with a growth mindset and collaborative spirit
