Job description
The Associate of Retail Marketing is responsible for supporting the wholesale business across US and Canada. Cross functional collaboration will be key, as this individual partners closely with internal teams (Sales, Operations Creative, PR, Influencer, Social) to develop and execute new launches and promote evergreen campaigns within retail partners. Strong communication skills will also be critical, as this individual will act as liaison between ILIA team and retail partners (Sephora North America, ULTA, Specialty Accounts) on a daily basis. As ILIA grows in scale, business, and ambitions, the Associate, Retail Marketing will help ensure our launch plans and evergreen support are flawlessly executed across our North America retailers, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
This role is hybrid and open to candidates based in Los Angeles, CA. This role reports into the Sr. Manager, Retail Marketing.
Retail Support
Collaborate with the Senior Retail Marketing Manager to prioritize key business initiatives related to new product launches and core campaigns.
Work with PR, Influencer, Sales, Social, Creative, and Operations teams to execute 360 marketing campaigns for new launches and evergreen promotions.
Ongoing management of the North America retail marketing calendars to track all activations, ensuring that updates reflect the latest information and account for any changes.
Maintain regular communication with retail partners to ensure timely delivery of external needs.
Oversee the collateral requirements for retail partners—such as product pages, emails, site materials, in-store tools, digital campaigns, and social media content—and manage the submission of creative requests for all retail needs across North America retailer channels on time and to spec.
Outline key creative requirements for retail marketing campaigns and coordinate with the creative team for timely deliverables.
Oversee all retailer set-up forms and systems, ensuring retailers have the necessary information and resources for new launches. Collaborate with the appropriate cross functional teams (i.e: Sales, PD, Ops, Copy) to maintain accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate all retailer comp requests by partnering with Operations to secure product samples and ensure timely delivery, while maintaining clear communication with retailers throughout the process.
Partner with International Marketing to ensure we are working in lockstep to amplify across the globe.
Collaborate on all launch recap presentations for retail marketing and share out with full Marketing, Creative and Digital teams.
Track and manage marketing budget for all retail initiatives.
Continuously optimize, test and iterate assets on retail product pages.
Manage product review programs (for both core and newness) from beginning to end, partnering with both internal teams (operations, sales, marketing and creative) and external team at third party review companies.
Partner with the leadership team to build Powerpoint presentations for major internal and external meetings (market weeks, sales seminars and misc. meetings).
Identify new growth opportunities to partner with key retail partners on any pilot/test programs.
Attend North America retailer events and shows as brand representative, sharing key insights and opportunities.
Remain up to date on market trends, launches and events, attending stores regularly and sharing key findings with full marketing and creative teams.
Field Support
Act as the liaison between field teams and marketing, filtering requests and ensuring access to necessary launch tools.
Assist in creating, sourcing, and distributing marketing, education, and sales tools for in-store activations and major retailer events.
Lead monthly touch base with key field partners to capture ongoing feedback and insights.
Partner with the creative, education and sales team to build event guidelines and ensure they are upheld.
Job requirements
3+ years of retail marketing experience (prior beauty experience and Sephora/ULTA experience required)
A successful record in executing retailer specific strategies that drove high revenue growth.
Deep understanding of ILIA’s mission and aesthetic to support our brand story across multiple channels
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage, prioritize and balance multiple projects.
Experience working with a rapidly growing business is a huge plus
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for creating and delivering compelling sales decks.
A high attention to detail and follow-through is a must.
